Sodalite, a tectosilicate mineral has a waxy luster and is a part of the cubic crystal system. It is a rock-forming mineral that has opaque transparency and comes in shades of purple and royal blue with white calcite. Sodalite is not just a semi-precious stone but it is something rare and ripe. It is not as ancient as Lapiz Lazuli but has amazing healing properties and due to its dark blue color, it is often mistaken for being a piece of Lapiz Lazuli.
