Rudraksha, botanically known as the Elaeocarpus Ganitrusis is the parched root of a tree that thrives in a certain zone in South East Asia. It is also named “Tear of Shiva” and there are several fables related to Lord Shiva that express its beginning. The term Rudraksha arises from the word “Rudra” which is another name for Shiva and “Aksha” which signifies slashes. 

It can be worn by anyone, irrespective of their gender, artistic background, ethnicity, geographical location, or religious background. They are intended for people at any stage in life irrespective of mind and physical shape. It can be worn by children, students, the elderly, and people suffering from any illness. It is very supportive of maintaining physical and mental balance and promotes the spiritual development of spiritual petitioners. Its curative effects have been utilized worldwide for various physical, mental, and psychological sicknesses.

Rudraksha tree yields the seeds in various forms. It is favorably termed as ‘Mukhi’ which translates to ‘face’. Large-sized beads are yielded from Rudraksha trees in Nepal, whereas small-sized beads are yielded from trees in Indonesia. It is available from the range of 1 Mukhi to 27 Mukhi. 1 Mukhi bead is the rarest and the most auspicious, whereas 4 Mukhi, 5 Mukhi, and 6 Mukhi are very common and can be easily found in all places. The 27 Mukhi beads are available in Nepal. The Panchamukhi beads are 5-faced that can be worn by anyone above 14 years of age and helps cultivate inner space and purity. On the other hand, Dwimukhi is a two-faced Rudraksha and is worn by wedded people as they support married relationships. 

Apart from Mukhi, there are other kinds of Rudraksha beads as well which are- Gauri Shankar, Ganesha, and Trijuti.

  • Authentic Rudraksha can be provided by sadhus, saints, ashrams, and vendors who provide security credentials. 
  • Astrology must be considered to wear any Mukhi Rudraksha. 
  • Authentic Rudraksha is very costly.
  • Security certification is required to declare the authenticity of Rudraksha.

It is believed that the super magical and holy beads are likely to remove any unfavorable impact of all the nine planets and bring happiness to the life of the wearer. The Rudraksha wearers get protection from the negative effects of black magic, accidents, untimely death, and even the evil eye.
